Location: Bucharest,  Hybrid (2 days remote)

The opportunity

You'll join our Sustainability team and work on projects focused on the Financial Services sector, including banking, insurance and other financial institutions.

You'll support clients in understanding sustainability and ESG topics relevant to financial sector, identifying related risks and opportunities and integrating sustainability into their business, risk management and decision-making processes.

Your key responsibilities

• Help clients understand and respond to sustainability and ESG-related regulatory requirements.
• Support clients in identifying, assessing and managing ESG and climate-related risks and opportunities.
• Perform sustainability assessments, gap analyses and benchmarking.
• Support clients in carrying out double materiality, sustainability reporting, EU taxonomy assessment and disclosure projects.
• Analyze ESG and sustainability data and turn the results into clear and practical recommendations.
• Prepare reports, presentations and other client deliverables.
• Work directly with clients to understand their needs and provide practical solutions.
• Coordinate project activities and support junior team members.
• Collaborate with EY colleagues from sustainability, financial services, risk and other areas.
• Contribute to proposals, market research and business development activities.

Skills and attributes for success

• Good understanding of sustainability, ESG topics and regulation (i.e. CSRD, SFDR, Pillar III, etc.)  relevant to financial sector.
• Good understanding of the Financial Services sector, ideally banking, insurance or asset management.
• Knowledge of sustainability reporting, ESG risk management and sustainable finance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to understand regulatory requirements and explain their impact on businesses.
• Good communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to manage different activities and deadlines.
• Confidence in using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
• Ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues.
• Good command of Romanian and English, both written and spoken.

Ideally, you'll also

• Have 5+ years of relevant professional experience in sustainability, ESG, financial services, risk, consulting, audit or a related area.
• Have previous experience working with banks, and/or insurance companies and/or other financial institutions.
• Have experience working on sustainability or ESG-related projects.
• Have experience in sustainability reporting, ESG risk or sustainable finance.
• Be interested in sustainability developments affecting the Financial Services sector.
