Technology Summer Intern Program 2011

Desirable Skills
- Experience with at least one OO language e.g. Java, C++ or C#
- Database knowledge (SQL)
- Operating system knowledge (Windows / Unix)
- Excellent problem-solving skills

Program Content
The 10 week Technology Summer Intern Program is designed to develop highly motivated junior technologists within application development & infrastructure engineering and includes the following:
- Morgan Stanley Company Induction
- Technical language, proprietary environment and infrastructure training
- Technical and Professional on-the job training
- Optional English Training Course
- Technology Group Overview Sessions
- Mentor Program
Summer Interns who excel in the program may receive an offer to join the full-time Technology Training Program upon graduation.

Project Opportunities
Interns are given the opportunity to work on systems such as our enterprise portal, wireless access, or components of our many trading and risk reporting systems using various technologies such .NET, JSP, Java Servlets and SOAP. Examples of projects available include the following:
- Creation of Calibration Screens within market data application
- Enhancement of JAXB2 Infrastructure Application
- C# application to process XML documents in Microsoft Excel
- Creation of dynamic messaging tool within notification system
- Implementation of new features within Real Time Data Management Framework
- Creation of self discovery alerting tool for IP addresses
- Creation of infrastructure application to identify SAN service times

Selection Process
Applicants go through first-round HR and technical phone interviews and, if selected, will attend an Assessment Centre which includes Q&A with Morgan Stanley technologists, technical and interpersonal interview, problem-solving exercise and group exercise.

Internship dates: between end of June and beginning of September 2011
Contract: 40 Hours-a-week Contract
