Who we are
PwC is a network of firms in 158 countries with more than 180,000 people who are committed to delivering quality in assurance, tax and advisory services. We’ve been in Central and Eastern Europe for the past 22 years, employing today around 7,800 professionals across the entire region. We’ve got the most talented experts on the market, thanks to whom we’re in the top position as provider of professional services, helping develop the business community in 30 countries.
Most importantly, we help organisations and individuals create the value they’re looking for. Because that’s what we’re looking for ourselves.
“PwC is the only one of the Big Four firms to have a regional partnership, which means that across Central & Eastern Europe (CEE) we act as one firm. This makes it easier for us to provide seamless service for our clients and means greater international exposure and mobility for our staff across our 30 countries. Each year we welcome graduates and experienced professionals to join us for a unique professional experience. We’re proud to offer on-hand expertise, access to a diverse workforce across the globe, and insight into a wealth of information. We help you build your career and make your personal brand speak for yourself in the business world." Mike Kubena (CEO, PwC Central and Eastern Europe)
You may ask yourself: why PwC?
The short answer is: why not?
Here are some good reasons – the rest you’ll hopefully find for yourselves:
- Rich career and professional development opportunities;
- World-class training and development courses and programmes;
- On-the-job training;
- As a recent graduate you might not know what direction to take. With us you can learn a transferable qualification, work and learn about a variety of companies and decide the direction you want your career to take.
We’re big fans of a strong coaching culture; in other words, here at PwC, everyone has someone they can learn from who takes an interest in where their career is heading. Coaching relationships based on trust and respect can be highly rewarding for both coaches and coachees. As a coachee in PwC you have ownership of your own career and can take personal responsibility for your professional path. Later on, as a coach within PwC, you’ll have the opportunity to assist your own coachee.
Do your homework. Our website features more details about the career tracks themselves, as well as lots of information about the activities of our different business areas. Before you apply, it’s also worth talking to friends, family, teachers and careers advisers to get guidance on your career choice. Consider what we look for. Your intellect alone though isn’t enough. To stand out from other potential recruits, you’ll also need to show us evidence you have the competencies that are critical to our success as a firm. These skills include the ability to:
- communicate clearly, listen effectively and influence others;
- take advantage of new learning opportunities, share learning and be creative in your thinking;
- understand and show an interest in client service and delivery work successfully in teams and demonstrate leadership potential;
- build and sustain relationships through rich internal and external networks;
- deal with changing priorities/ workloads with a positive attitude;
- maintain professionalism and strive for high ethical standards at all times;
- reflect on personal performances and recognise development needs.
We’ll look for evidence that you’re determined, good at solving problems and have a strong interest in the commercial world. Once you’ve considered the areas above and submitted a good application we’ll invite you to our Assessment Centre. Assessment Centres include three main activities – we’ll test your numerical and verbal skills, carry out two interviews and ask you to take part in a group discussion or individual assessment exercise. The Assessment Centre also includes a Personality Questionnaire and a written English test. We hope to meet you soon!
We want all our new joiners to feel welcome at PwC. With our on-boarding program we will support you in becoming a motivated and productive staff member and colleague as soon as possible. Therefore we organize your on-boarding in a standardized, structured way with several people around you and making sure you find your way.
Feel welcome and find your way
Our on-boarding process starts when you consider PwC as a prospective employer. From the time you sign your offer letter, we’re working hard to ensure that your first day arrival is one that you’ll remember. During this period:
- You will have on-going communication with our colleagues to get you prepared for your first day.
- You will be provided with an initial insight to PwC culture and business.
- We help you feel included, informed, aligned and ready to begin.
When you walk in the door on day one, you’ll join the firm’s PwC induction program with other new joiners. It will give you an overview of our vision, values and strategy so that you can begin to see what life is like at PwC. As part of your on-bboarding, you’ll be allocated a buddy and coach who will work with you and help you find your way. We’ve also got an on-boarding plan that you can use to help you structure your performance, coaching and development against the new joiner expectations. It just makes your life a bit easier because we’ve done the hard work for you.
Once you're up and running, you'll participate in your business's learning curriculum to give you the practical skills you need to service your clients. The coaching and mentoring network will accelerate your professional growth, increase the number of relationships you have within PwC and business community, and you will able to confidently and successfully operate within PwC’s culture and organization.
