Beyond the Business: Creating a Meaningful Community Impact

MassMutual Romania is committed to making a positive difference that extends beyond its business value. Through our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy, we create meaningful, lasting impact in the communities where we live and work, while empowering our team to contribute to causes they care about.

 Our approach is guided by three core directions that reflect our broader commitment to social responsibility: Education, Health, and Sustainability. What makes a significant difference is the continuity of initiatives in these directions. Many of our community partnerships have been established since MassMutual Romania opened in 2020 and have continued to evolve ever since.

Over the past six years, we have worked alongside non-profit organisations from our communities, and we have provided opportunities for our colleagues’ participation where it is most needed, building long-term relationships that create sustainable impact.

Digital Education: Building Skills for a Tech Future

Having access to technology and developing digital skills is currently one of the most relevant ways to create long-term opportunities.

In 2026, we focused on initiatives that promote digital literacy, helping young people build confidence and future-ready skills. We partnered with organizations dedicated to bringing technology-based learning to more students, including those from underserved rural or neurodivergent communities, ensuring that digital opportunities reach those who might not be prepared otherwise.

Beyond financial support, six volunteers from our team contributed with their time and expertise through mentoring and skills-based sessions. Through these efforts, we aim to empower the next generation to confidently use technology.

Health: Supporting Wellbeing and Stronger Communities

Healthy communities create opportunities for people to thrive, driving positive and lasting impact for society. Through our annual Blood Donation campaign, organized with the help of Col. Prof Dr. Nicolae Nestorescu transfusion centre, already reaching its 8^th edition, we once again brought together employees and their close ones and neighbours in our building. They all supported a common cause: contributing to saving lives.

We also partnered with organizations focused on neurodiversity, autism awareness, and access to specialized support services, improving the life quality for the beneficiaries and their families. Many colleagues took part in 12 races supporting a nonprofit organization  and fundraising activities that combined wellbeing with community impact, showing that small actions can have a big impact.

Sustainability: Investing in a Better Tomorrow

Our Sustainability pillar reflects a commitment to protecting the environment and building responsible communities for future generations. At the end of 2025 we proudly inaugurated the MassMutual Romania Forest in Băicoi, Prahova County, a legacy we want to leave to the future generations. Since 2020 and up to the present day, our employees have taken part in nine tree-planting activities, planting a total of 16000 saplings and haven also gotten involved in environmental awareness initiatives and partnerships dedicated to a greener environment.

Together We Move Forward

Across all three pillars, one common thread unites our actions: our people. The dedication of our colleagues, the trust of our partners, and the resilience of the communities we serve make every initiative possible, from supporting education and health campaigns to preparing meals for vulnerable groups (almost 5 000 meals prepared with the help of our colleagues in Bucharest and Cluj) and protecting the environment.

At MassMutual Romania, CSR is a long-term commitment to creating opportunities, improving wellbeing, and building a more sustainable future. As we strengthen partnerships that began years ago and develop new ways to give back, we remain guided by a simple belief: together we move forward.
