Supplier Quality Inspector

A Snapshot of the Day

In your role as Supplier Quality Inspector for grid technology projects, you will be responsible for ensuring product quality, compliance, and packaging conformity at supplier locations through source inspections, first sample approvals, and shipment release activities. Your focus will be on materials and equipment shipped directly to project and construction sites, where no incoming inspection is carried out by Siemens Energy. By verifying product quality, manufacturing progress, material readiness, and compliance with packaging and delivery requirements prior to dispatch, you will identify and mitigate quality and supply chain risks early, prevent site disruptions, rework, and contribute to reliable, on-time, and successful project execution.

How You'll Make an Impact

• Perform source inspections, product acceptance activities, First Article Inspections (FAI), First Sample Inspections (FSP/EMP), and shipment release assessments at supplier premises to ensure compliance with Siemens Energy quality requirements.
• Verify product conformity through review of drawings, specifications, inspection records, material certificates, manufacturing documentation, and required quality records.
• Assess compliance with Siemens Energy General Delivery Requirements, including packaging, preservation, marking, labeling, and shipping requirements, and perform packaging inspections prior to shipment.
• Manage supplier quality issues and non-conformities by initiating, tracking, and following up corrective actions in close collaboration with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure sustainable problem resolution.
• Review manufacturing progress and material readiness, identify quality and supply chain risks, and proactively coordinate mitigation and escalation activities with suppliers, Procurement, Logistics, Project Management, and Supplier Quality Management to support on-time delivery.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing, or a comparable technical discipline, or relevant experience in quality assurance, supplier quality, or manufacturing processes.
• Several years of experience in Quality Assurance, Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Quality, Incoming Inspection, or Source Inspection.
• Knowledge of First Article Inspection (FAI), PPAP, First Sample Inspection processes, technical drawings, GD&T, and inspection methodologies.
• Familiarity with quality tools and methodologies such as FMEA, 8D, SPC, Control Plans, and Root Cause Analysis.
• A proactive, organized, and results-driven approach to work.
• Capability of multitasking, with excellent organizational skills while assuring a high-quality work process
• Intercultural sensitivity, to work in (virtual) international team
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, ability to analyse and learn as well as motivation, result orientation and enthusiasm to make a positive contribution to the team.
• It would be beneficial to have familiarity with CAD tools for interpreting technical drawings and a working knowledge of SAP.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Visio.
• Business-level i¬?uency in English. German skills will be beneficial.
• A willingness to travel internationally is essential, up to 70% of the working time will involve travel to suppliers.
