PLM Excellence Manager

A Snapshot of Your Day

To support the newly created PLM-SO E&DE department within Grid Technologies, this role is established to drive excellence in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) for Solution Management Storage. It aligns with the strategic objective of managing extended team responsibilities and optimizing product lifecycles globally. To address these business aims, the role focuses on PLM process optimization, operational excellence, and cross-functional governance. These areas ensure standard methodologies are deployed across the lifecycle of our solutions to improve development efficiency and quality of delivery. Given the focus on PLM and R&D operational excellence, the ideal candidate will have extensive experience in product lifecycle management, process engineering, and team leadership. Knowledge of grid technologies and solutions for power transmission is highly preferred.

How You'll Make an Impact

• Define, maintain and continuously improve the PLM-SO operating model, including governance structures, planning processes, review forums, decision rights, and role definitions.
• Ensure clear interfaces between Product Management, Portfolio Management, Engineering, Quality, Tendering, Execution and Services.
• Drive harmonization of PLM processes and adoption of standard ways of working across all clusters.
• Establish and maintain governance mechanisms that improve transparency, accountability and decision quality.
• Own and keep up to date PLM processes, standards, governance documentation, role profiles and operating procedures.
• Maintain alignment with corporate PLM frameworks and compliance requirements
• Establish a systematic approach for managing lessons learned and best-practice sharing across clusters.
• Regularly review process effectiveness and launch improvement initiatives where required.
• Define and deploy best practices for R&D planning, milestone management, reviews and governance
• Standardize review rhythms, project-health assessments and execution methodologies across the PLM SO and R&D organization.
• Define and maintain PLM and R&D performance KPIs and dashboards
• Monitor governance compliance, process performance and execution effectiveness
• Develop reporting mechanisms that support management decision-making.
• Translate findings from the PLM Excellence assessment into concrete improvement initiatives
• Lead cross-functional transformation projects related to governance, operating model, organizational interfaces and digitalization.
• Drive communication, stakeholder engagement and adoption of new ways of working.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 5 to 8 years of professional experience in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), product planning, or engineering management within the energy or grid technology sector.
• Proven track record of leading cross-functional process improvement initiatives and managing complex projects in an international environment.
• Requires experience in product lifecycle management, including PLM methodologies and frameworks, quality gate governance, and the application of Agile and Waterfall project management approaches to support effective product development, governance, and successful delivery across the product lifecycle.
• Leadership and governance capabilities, including cross???functional team leadership, process optimization and continuous improvement, stakeholder management, and change management to drive organizational effectiveness, support business transformation, and ensure successful delivery of strategic objectives.
• Technical and domain expertise in systems engineering to support the design, integration, verification, and optimization of complex systems while ensuring alignment with technical, operational, and business requirements.
• Willingness to travel in Europe, around 25%
