MSc Programme in International Marketing (PR.I.MA.) - Athens University of Economics and Business





PR.I.MA. is a full time post graduate programme offered by the Department of Marketing & Communication of the Athens University of Economics & Business (AUEB), Greece. The Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) is the third oldest Higher Education Institution in Greece and the oldest in the general fields of Economics and Business. The Department of Marketing and Communication is one of the newest and most dynamic departments of Athens University of Economics and Business and today one of the most popular departments and hence most demanding, in terms of entry qualifications, among all Greek university departments regardless of scientific field.

Academic staff combines first-rate academic credentials with significant business experience. More specifically, the academic staff of the department has produced a considerable number of papers in the most prestigious international journals of the marketing field including Journal of Marketing, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Decision Sciences, Journal of Business Research, Industrial Marketing Management, Journal of Product Innovation Management, European Journal of Marketing, Journal of Services Marketing, among others. Also, a number of best paper awards have been given to faculty members for cutting-edge research publications. Furthermore, the department’s faculty has been extensively involved in consulting projects, EU-funded projects and executive training in Greece and abroad.

The PR.I.MA. curriculum reflects the increasingly global nature of marketing that stems from the highly globalized economies and the need of leading companies to expand their business internationally. Possessing specialized cross cultural managerial skills is considered a winning asset in contemporary business settings.

PR.I.MA. starts in September each year. The duration of the programme is 15 months, divided into 3 semesters and includes 8 core and 2 elective courses as well as a dissertation.

The courses cover a broad array of topics in the areas of global marketing strategy and cross cultural management and communication. The theoretical knowledge obtained by the classroom lectures is combined with real live business experience through executive workshops which are offered with distinguished company executives as keynote speakers and field trips to subsidiaries of international companies and/or companies with extensive export activity. A residential Summer School on Personal and Professional Development funded by the Programme is also organized for the students.

The dissertation can take the form of an academic project at the AUEB under the supervision of a faculty member of the University or abroad in one of our partnering European Universities with long tradition in International Business and Marketing supported by an Erasmus grant or a field project in a company.
