    The Cluj-Napoca location of Porsche Engineering is specialized in complex technical calculations and is also involved in the development of electric vehicles, electronics and design. We cover a wide range of development activities and know-how – from conventional powertrains to future mobility and from prototype to series development. These activities contribute significantly to the improvement of safety in future cars by optimizing brake systems and developing pedestrian protections as well as driver assistance systems.     History

    Porsche Engineering Romania SRL was founded in Cluj-Napoca in 2016 as a subsidiary of Porsche Engineering Group GmbH, Weissach (Germany). The foundation was closely linked to the collaboration with the Technical University in Cluj-Napoca which has been in place since 1992. This bridge between industry and academic research and instruction has resulted in a fruitful and mutually beneficial exchange.

    Requirements


    Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or an equivalent education
    At least 5 years of professional experience in Software Engineering
    Several years of professional experience in object oriented programming as Python, C++, C#, Java or .NET
    Good knowledge of data structures, algorithms, complexity and optimization strategies, as well as design patterns
    Good knowledge of general machine learning techniques like linear or logistics regression, classification, clustering and data pre-processing methods
    First work experience in the Machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow, TensorRT, Keras or PyTorch
    At least one year of work experience with agile methodologies as Scrum, Kanban and XP
    Being open to learn and apply technologies most appropriate for each task, as needed
    English language is mandatory and German language is considered a plus
    Strong communication and teamwork skills as well as a high affinity for delivering first-quality engineering services to the customer
    Willingness to travel



    Responsibilities

    Writing code to gather data, pre-process and explore it, visualize it, train various machine learning models and deploy them into working software, on various hardware platforms
    Working directly with stakeholders to understand problems in our domain
    Designing and delivering technical solutions to business and product problems
    Taking ownership of initiatives and driving them through to completion
    Applying various algorithms and machine learning techniques in order to find the best solution
    Using Atlassian stack: Jira, Confluence, BitBucket git and Bamboo; for task management, documenting solutions, building and versioning the code
    Collaborating with international project teams

    Porsche Engineering Romania is currently looking for a Software Engineer with Machine learning skills to join the team in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. In this role, you will be responsible for developing mission critical applications utilizing Python. You will work on projects that span technologies, systems, and processes where you will design, test, and ship high quality code. In this role, you will collaborate with team members and clients, to build data analytics and machine learning systems, which enable close-to-real-time image processing, pattern finding in time series data, emulating behavior or predicting future car-related driving scenarios on public roads. As a team member, you will have to combine Software Engineer skills with machine learning algorithmic abilities. You are not afraid to ask for help when you need it, or to help teammates when they need a boost in circumstances like code review, feedback or creatively adapt multiple ideas into a solution.
