    DB Tech/School - Application support engineer

    The Goal



    We are developing an internship program that is specially designed to create and evolve highly motivated and passionate candidates. Our DB Techschool aims to bring students and graduates of a technical university into the organizational and multicultural working environment from our Bucharest Technology Center.

    Here you will have the opportunity to work beside our colleagues along the shadowing stage that will expose you to our day-to-day working environment.

    During the program, we will encourage you to show us how passionate and fast learner you are and if we like you and you feel like you belong here, we will be more than happy to offer you the chance to be our colleague in the very same project that your shadowing stage took place.

    DB Techschool is a 3-months paid internship program with a competitive internship salary, with 6 hours/day in order to fit in with your university’s schedule.

    Your profile



    Education/Certification:
    • Preferably Bachelor’s or Master degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in Computer Science or Software Engineering (or equivalent) – with a minor in Finance, Mathematics or Engineering;

    Role Description - Summary:
    The SL3 Support Engineer provides production support for software applications and works closely with the Development and Release Management practices to ensure code and design integrity of the fixes (hot fixes, patches). The L3 Support Engineer will support the new application following internal DB Best Practices and Governance procedures.

    Responsibilities/Tasks that you will have to provide in this role:
    •You will have to provide Level 3 support for technical infrastructure components (. databases, middleware and user interfaces).
    •You will have to perform problem and root cause analysis for application production incidents and deliver the necessary resolution pack (. hotfixes, patches).
    •You will have to provide support and remediation on any issues pertaining to the supported applications by providing detailed code analysis of applications’ production platform. Remediate incidents/outages pertaining to the platform.
    •You will have to estimate time required to implement remediation actions.
    •You will have to ensure that all relevant documentation is kept up to date and follows DB internal Standards, Procedures and Guidelines for your supported applications
    •You will need to manage appropriate vendor interaction in a multi-vendor environment.
    •You will need to conduct incident and problem management activities
    •You will need to conduct ad-hoc or recurrent Problem Management meetings with IT Product Managers (ITPMs), infrastructure groups, problem managers and incident managers to track progress and highlight issues.
    •You will need to perform detailed technology analyses to highlight weaknesses and make recommendations for improvement.

    We are looking for basic or advanced knowledge in one or more of the following


    •JAVA experience: , . Good to know
    •Knowledge in databases: Oracle, MySQL, MS SQL
    •SQL/PLSQL development skills
    •Knowledge in JSP, JQuery, Javascript, Ajax calls, Spring, Spring MVC, Hibernate, Maven, SOAP and Rest WS.
    •Knowledge in application servers : Tomcat, Weblogic or other similar application servers
    •Basic networking knowledge
    •Basic knowledge of security principles
    •Have an understanding of IT project management
    •ITIL understanding
    •Previous production support experience is nice to have
    •Ability to understand business requirements and to relate them to defects and propose hot fixes.
    •Ability to work on tight schedule.
    •Ability to work effectively with senior IT and Business stakeholders.
