DevOps Engineer

Softing is a successful, independent provider of hardware and software for industrial automation and automotive electronics. SoftingRom has been founded early in 2005 as an R&D center of Softing AG Munich, with offices both in Cluj-Napoca and Miercurea-Ciuc.

- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
- Ability to use a wide variety of tools and technologies
- Experience with Continuous Integration (Jenkins)
- Creation/maintenance of the release generation environments
- Virtualization (VMware, ESXi)
- Usage of scripting languages (Python, Shell/Batch)
- Source code management systems (SVN)
- Experience with Docker and/or other containerization technologies
- Experience automating release and build processes
- Experience with Windows operating systems, Linux
- Configuration Management
- Web servers: Apache, Nginix
- Install Shield
- Problem solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Experience in Agile development
- Comfort with collaboration, open communication and reaching across functional/team borders
- Good time-management skills
- English communication skills (writing and speaking)

- Collaborates with software developers, QA engineers and other IT staff members to manage code releases
- Classifies, maintains, documents the resources used for the development, test, software release processes: computer servers, virtual networks, virtual machines, applications, industrial hardware/network test environment
- Configures users/groups security permissions
- Schedules shared resources used for development and quality assurance
- Configures and maintains the release generation environment and its backup
- Configures and maintains the CI/CD workflows (version control checkouts, builds, binaries signing, help and documentation generation, installers generation, deployment, automated tests, reports)
- Provisioning of test environments at various stages (development tests, integration tests, system tests)
- Adopts best practices and leverages automation in order to optimize release cycle time
- Security configuration of the test environments (PKI certificate stores)
- Handles web, desktop and mobile (Xamarin based) applications
