PCB Layout & Validation Intern

Job Description

The PCB Design & Validation Intern is responsible for supporting the Applications Engineering department activities including layout design of development tools/reference designs as well as creation of PCB's used for validation/demonstration of new silicon. This position will also provide support for ordering, assembly, test, and debug of new PCB designs.

Essential Function

• Designing analogue development tools using Altium Designer CAD software, fully compliant with performance objectives set by system definition;
• Testing and calibrating reference designs that are released to production and available for purchase on our corporate site;
• Develop and adapt hardware and software analogue solutions, assist MSLD group with validation of development tools in accordance with customers’ requirements and existing standards.

• Pursuing a Bachelor Degree in Electronics, Automatics or Electrical Engineering;
• Good background in PCB layout/design.
• Knowledge about schematic capture and PCB layout CAD tools (preferably Altium Designer).
• Experience with PCB assembly and debug.
• Able to use equipment in the lab including oscilloscopes, meters, power supplies, and other measurement instruments.
• Must be able to read and interpret schematics and written specifications.
• Basic digital circuit knowledge.
• Strong verbal and written abilities with the English language.
