Aircraft Mechanic Structure

Lilium is a disruptive aviation start-up based in Munich. Co-founded in 2015 by Daniel Wiegand, Sebastian Born, Patrick Nathen and Matthias Meiner, the team brings together international world-class engineers and designers.

The group shares the vision of a completely new type of individual transportation and is dedicated to develop and build the world’s first fully electric vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) jet. An estimated range of up to 300 km and a top speed of 300 km/h, along with zero emissions make it the most efficient and eco-friendly individual means of transportation of our time. By providing ultra-redundancy, the Lilium Jet will also set new standards in safety.

Lilium aims at liberating towns and cities from today’s congestion and pollution, with people able to come and go freely, vastly expanding the radius of their everyday lives.

- Completed training as an aircraft mechanic, alternatively in a related mechanical profession with several years of experience within aircraft manufacture, ship building, composite production or prototype production
- A qualification related to either composite, propulsion or electrical motors assembly and testing is of advantage
- Experience as Aircraft mechanic or electrician desired
- Must be able to read, understand and ideally improve our design and assembly drawings, including tolerance related matters
- Inspection degree and experience with 21G or 145 requirements for tooling, components and systems is necessary
- Experience with assembly and wiring for mechanical and electric modules desired
- High degree of technical understanding with a pro-active working approach, team player mindset and high level of independence and reliability is required
- Experience in proactive non-conformance management
- Fluent English required, German language is a plus

- Perform assembly and production tests in accordance with our work instructions
- Manufacture and assemble composite and metal-light-weight structures
- Work on the assembly of propulsion systems with mechanical and electrical components
- Perform work scope inspections for your own, as well as others (level 2 inspector 21G)
- Build test rigs, prepare and execute various development tests
- Work on specification and calibration of production tooling and equipment
- Manufacturing of different materials and designs for our workshop
- Ensure that all health, safety & environmental standards are met at all times
- Work on our prototype products from assembly to getting the product ready for flight testing
- Pro-actively work on various tasks from providing design/specification input, purchasing tools or materials, organising travel or other
