Full Stack PHP Engineer (new ramp-up in Bucharest)

What they are looking for
o They are looking for an independent, curious, industrious and diligent Developer to take our platform forward who at a minimum has experience with the following:
o Minimum of 2-4 years’ experience with PHP (OOP) in a consumer facing, transactional, technology driven organisation
o You love working with LAMP / WAMP (Linux, PHP, MySQL, Apache) and are comfortable writing complex deployment ready code
o Familiarity with server management (AWS, Linux server configuration and networking concepts)
o Experience of PHP micro-frameworks as well as templating engines
o Experience in transactional and e-Commerce systems. They hand millions in payments daily and service thousands of customers. You need to know how to build scalable and robust code.
o Experience in consuming APIs (AWS, Stripe, Sendgrid, Twillio and more) as well as developing RESTfull APIs
o Preferably university-level degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering or Mathematics.
o Strong communication skills with working knowledge of English
o Comfortable working in hyper-growth environments

This is a unique opportunity to join one of Europe hottest FinTech companies. Our client is looking for a Full Stack PHP Engineer to join their Bucharest team. You will work with their Romania based Engineering Lead to build and grow the business and join their co-founder (Bulgarian) and MD (Romanian) in developing their presence on the ground.

Their focus is technology first; they hate manual processes and will automate as much as possible building a robust back-end to support their simple and intuitive front-end system.

Your role
o As a Full Stack Developer, you will take on real ownership to grow our code base as well as improve our infrastructure stack as we develop a world class IT platform. You will be based in Bucharest, Romania but will have the option to travel to London and will use current communication and collaboration methods to stay in touch with the teams.
o You will take responsibility for your own work streams and will have significant autonomy to develop a solution to challenging technical problems. You will pro-actively engage with the Engineering or Product team and will love working collaboratively.
o Expect a challenging but supportive environment where you will learn every day and cover a broad range of projects every week. As you develop you will have the opportunity to mentor junior team members and provide support to the other members of the dev team.
