About us

Requirements

• Degree in Economics or Foreign Languages is a plus
• Good understanding of localization process
• Excellent organizational, time management and communication skills
• Analytical thinking
• Problem solving abilities
• Good understanding of video games production and interest in technology
• Proficient in English (written and spoken), French or another foreign language is a plus
• Interest in other languages/cultures
• Excellent MS Office and Internet literacy
• Ability to build solid professional relations
• Curious, able to identify opportunities, seek improvement and drive change
• Sense of humor

In the role of Localization Assistant, you will be responsible for providing assistance on tasks and topics related to assessing the localization quality of Ubisoft titles, monitoring the video-games localization market and maintaining a good relationship with the localization partners. You will be working closely with the Localization Quality Manager in order to take over activities already handled by the latter, according to the workload and the priorities at a given moment.

Localization is the adaptation of a product to a target culture and market. It consists in managing the translation & adaptation, audios, integration and linguistic quality assurance of a product from a source language, usually English, to several target languages (French, German, Italian, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Nordic languages, Russian, Polish, Japanese, Korean, Chinese etc.).

Internationalization refers to the ensemble of actions (technical, process wise or linguistic/content wise) taken so that a product can be localized, and, moreover, so that it can be localized easily, in a timely manner and cost-efficiently.

Missions

• Maintain a regular communication with the localization vendors in order to send or require information, updates and feedback on specific topics.
• Perform research on new markets and trends in the industry and draft best practices documentation.
• Regularly update the internal database information on localization vendors.
• Handle some contractual formalities related to localization vendors, in collaboration with the Legal.
• Provide assistance to the implementation of quality surveys aimed at analyzing the localization quality of Ubisoft titles.
• Review the players’ comments from the quality surveys and provide an overview.
• Do the follow-up on the quality surveys (communicate the results and the players’ feedback, centralize the vendors’ input etc).
• Handle reviews of the competition titles.
• Elaborate occasional presentations on specific localization market topics.
