    Job Description

Amazon’s Intelligent Cloud Control group in Romania is seeking a passionate Machine Learning Scientist with strong analytical, technical and communication skills to address increasingly complex business questions within the CloudTune team. We process big data sets of hardware performance metrics in order to identify and understand hardware scaling behavior of Amazon websites.

As part of the Consumer Cloud Enablement business, our mission is to build the next generation of cloud platform that will revolutionize the way people engage with the internet. We are building an Intelligent Cloud Control System that will enable organizations in the Amazon Consumer Business (Retail, Amazon Video, Kindle, Amazon Subsidiaries and more) to accelerate innovating in the Cloud. Over the next 3 years we will migrate 100,000s of Amazon services to the AWS Cloud. Humans are too slow and unpredictable to manage, without automation and artificial intelligence, such a highly-distributed problem at the scale of the Earth and in real time.

You will be part of a group of research and applied scientists that will collaborate with software teams in Seattle, Dublin and Iasi, Romania. Your group will develop a range of algorithms and models that help software products manage the operations efficiency and availability of our highly distributed website implementation that serve 10s of billions of customer requests per day through Amazon retail websites, Kindle, Amazon instant video, Amazon subsidiaries and more. You will need to demonstrate great passion for customers, agility and adaptability in the face of fast changing business requirements and innovation across the company. You can find out more about us on our group page: https://www.amazon.jobs/en/landing_pages/icc

As the ideal candidate you will be able to independently mine and analyze data, and use any necessary programming, machine learning and statistical analysis software to do so. You must thrive in fast-paced environments which encourage collaborative and creative problem solving, measure and estimate risks, constructively critique peer research, and align research focuses with the Amazon’s strategic needs. You will drive innovations and partner with software teams to deliver products.
