Job Description

We own two internal Amazon services that enable reliable and flexible scheduling. One is a mature and stable, fully managed script execution service (think super-cron in the cloud) that runs on thousands of internal servers. The other is a growing API for scheduling general-purpose tasks across AWS services. They're both built on top of established AWS services like DynamoDB, Simple Workflow, SQS, or S3, and kept in shape with a metric ton of monitoring, automation and testing.

We relentlessly emphasize quality, and take pride in engineering and operational excellence. High availability, performance and robustness are table stakes for us. We build scalable systems that stand the test of time (and load!).

You will learn from seasoned AWS engineers with extensive experience. They will help you solve challenging problems that will build your engineering and analytical skills. Your work as an intern will set you up for success as a software engineer.

Basic Qualifications

• currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, actively pursuing a technical degree
• passion for software development and for growing as an engineer
• analytical and problem solving skills
• fundamentals of OOP, data structures, algorithms and networking
• exposure to at least one high-level programming language such as Java
• excellent command of English, spoken and written

Preferred Qualifications

• exposure to full-stack technologies, from web tech (JS/HTML/CSS) to backend and databases
• exposure to scripting languages such as Bash, Ruby and Python
• passion for programming competitions and events like hackathons
