Senior Backend Developer

- 3-5 years of application design & development experience
- Good knowledge of one or more Java frameworks (Spring, JSF, GWT or similar) is required
- Familiarity with the Hybris platform is a strong plus
- An understanding of OO design principles to support large-scale custom enterprise applications
- Knowledge of any additional languages, such as Groovy, Scala etc. is a plus
- Experience with Linux operating systems is a plus
- Experience with source code management strategies (e.g. forking, branching) and release management
- Excellent time management and strong multi-tasking skills
- E-commerce or similar web experience is strongly preferred
- Good knowledge of MVC architecture is mandatory
- Familiarity with databases and data modelling/design techniques; data interface protocols; database software installation; database tuning
- Basic knowledge of system administration and software and hardware configuration; ability to make informed recommendations to customer IT
staff; ability to troubleshoot pre- and post-production implementations; security; load balancing and performance
- Prior experience in helping clients through the decision-making process
- Fluent in English

- Analyze client business needs and recommend innovative solutions that leverage technology to provide market differentiation, efficiency improvements, and better user experiences
- Collaborate with an international team of Project Managers and Architects to understand client needs and communicate project progress
- Write great code! Independently determine the best approach to solving complex business problems with technology
- Mentor more junior staff members and be a role model for best practices in technical development
- Gain expertise in the Hybris platform
