Expert Data Analyst

Hunt Group – a mix of recruitment (executive search and head hunting) and outsourcing activities in industries such as IT, oil&gas, banking, finance and automotive.

- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in IT service delivery
- Minimum 3 years in relevant quantitative and qualitative research and analytics experience
- Solid knowledge of statistical techniques and solid knowledge of data mining techniques
- Fluent in English language, capable of writing well in English and holding discussions and meetings with non-Romanian parties
- Excellent knowledge and skills of Microsoft Office (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Power Point, Visio)
- Strong leadership and analytical abilities, negotiations and presentation skills
- Able to establish and maintain cross-organizational and cross cultural relationships
- The ability to come up with solutions to loosely defined business problems by leveraging pattern detection over potentially large datasets
- Strong programming skills such as Hadoop MapReduce or other big data frameworks, Java and statistical modelling like SAS
- Experience in working with tolls like: Power BI, Spotfire or Tableau
- Experience in implementing machine learning algorithms
- Proficiency in statistical analysis, quantitative analytics, forecasting / predictive analytics, multivariate testing, and optimization algorithms
- Technical expertise regarding data models, database design and data segmentation techniques
- Knowledge of one or more business / functional areas
- Able to identify what data is available and relevant, including internal and external data resources, leveraging new data collection processes such as smart meters and geo-location information or social media
- Ability to collaborate with organization experts to select the relevant sources of information
- Ability to work with IT teams to support data collection process, integration, and retention requirements based on the input collected with the business
- Ensure compliance of the information according to the regulatory and security policies in place

- Work individually with minimum supervision, but also in a team environment

- Conducts advanced data analytics and complex designs algorithm
- Responsible to develop the analytical context in order to reach the business objectives
- Responsible to monitor performance, maintain data quality and accuracy of the analytical context
- Responsible to raise flags where the data consistency or quality is at risk
- Responsible to recommend improvements to methods and algorithms that lead to findings including new information
- Applies independently the knowledge from area of expertise in accordance with the business requirements
- Gives guidance to more junior colleagues for problem solving / issue resolution
- Identifies potential risks in area of expertise and proposes respective solutions for risk mitigation
- Offer consultancy for business process / systems reengineering
- Designs and proposes changes and improvements of existing IT application services and processes in a coordinated way (e.g. performing SWOT / risk analysis, developing different solution scenarios, describing benefits and concerns per scenario, suggesting recommendations)
- Proactively comes up with improvement proposals based on proof of concepts, monthly operational data activities within the product landscape, proactive analysis carried out on a monthly basis and out of the collaboration with his / her counterparts
- Contributes to projects and initiatives for improving department / SL processes and systems
- Constantly propose towards Upstream management new services/approaches in line with Upstream strategy, for improving the effectiveness and efficiency with Upstream team
- Highly dedicated to the improvement of own technical abilities and assimilation of new information
- Maintains the connection with Project manager, service manager, business’ Department Managers, and all IT Service Lines
- Supervises the correct application of the specific regulations and of the legislation in force
- Meet deadlines related to submission of documents/information within Global Solutions, business divisions and/or external suppliers defined according to services levels agreed / respective working instructions
- Provides and accepts advice and constructive feedback and applies them in a productive manner to / from colleagues, managers, beneficiaries
- Communicates efficiently with all relevant stakeholders and answers to their requests in a prompt and efficient manner
- Develop data models to enrich the understanding of improvement opportunities based on business specific scenarios and help achieve business goals
- Ensure the consistency of data modeling techniques used through the organization
to proactively identifies/monitor data quality and to propose immediate improvement actions
- To establish communication touch points with the business and to communicate with the business functions regarding the business requirements and their involvement in the master data processes (quality, performance, regional exceptions)
- To proactively provide best practice experiences within Business Unit IT
- To support the business with complex data analysis and statistical models
- Be an ambassador for analytical services that Upstream IT provides to its’ customers and its analytical capabilities
- Ensure that appropriate control exists for analytics and every decision, model, statistical analysis is documented
- Keep up to date with emerging analytical skills, techniques, technologies and, if necessary, tools to ensure their timely introduction to provide a competitive advantage
- Develop other colleagues in the area of data science in the organization.
