Position Summary

As a member of the Commercial Systems Unit you will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining our SafeShopping service, which serves millions of our customers. You constantly interact with an international team of open minded computer scientists located in Romania and Germany to find the very best solutions to a diverse set of interesting problems.

We in the Commercial Systems unit manage and develop state of the art payment systems used in our online shop, e-commerce recommendation engines, marketing and messaging systems.

You have prior experience in web development and the ability to learn new languages and technologies within a short timeframe. You have a solid understanding of HTML, CSS and modern JavaScript frameworks. Testing and Continuous Integration sound familiar to you. Being responsible for an application end-to-end and deliver the best experience to the users of your service is what you like. Ideally you have prior knowledge in Python or Java and running a web application on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
 

Performance Objectives

1. Starting from day one, you will familiarize yourself with the products and services in the Commercial Systems Unit. Within one month you have an overview of the software and hardware architecture of the existing cloud-based system, so that you can start working on improvements and changes.
2. Within the first six months, you have implemented new features and improvements for our SafeShopping service and released them to millions of customers. You closely work together with the development team and product managers to grow the user base.
3. A year into the job, you have successfully improved the SafeShopping service and you are actively shaping the future of the product.
