Our story

The ORTEC journey started in the early 1980s. A few young Dutch students wanted to show the world the value of mathematics to secure long term sustainable growth for organizations and society at large. 37 years later, ORTEC is the world’s leading supplier of mathematical optimization software and advanced analytics with around 1000 employees and offices in 13 countries around the globe. Over the years, we have optimized business processes at more than 2,000 leading companies, enabling us to make a significant contribution to a better world.

• University education in Computer Science, Mathematics, Cybernetics or similar studies
• Fluent in English
• Good communication skills
• Good humored, motivated and ambitious
• Eager to learn
• International exposure
• 2-3 years of previous experience would be a plus

Previous exposure to:

• AngularJS ( or any other experience with a JavaScript framework is a plus)
• HTML 5, CSS 3, Bootstrap
• C#, ASP.NET Web API 2
• Microsoft SQL Server

Nice to have, but you will get the chance to learn:

• Knowledge of different JavaScript libraries: jQuery
• CSS Preprocessors: LESS
• Experience using code versioning systems
• Package management: Bower, NuGet
• Automation tools: Jenkins, Gulp
• Testing frameworks: Jasmine, Karma, Protractor
• Tasks tracking tool: Jira

• Reproduce the UX and visual designs received from the specialized team for developing customized websites for ORTEC optimization algorithms
• Ensure the feasibility of UI/UX designs
• Work closely with the back-end development team
• A good ideology for creating maintainable, scalable and cross-browser code
• Work closely with consultants’ team on solutions, feasibility of implementation and estimations for requests
• Proactively looking for ways to facilitate stable platform growth (interested in new technologies)
