Senior DevOps Engineer

Hunt Group – a mix of recruitment (executive search and head hunting) and outsourcing activities in industries such as IT, oil&gas, banking, finance and automotive.

-1 year of administering a production AWS website environment
-4-6 years of experience in operating, installation, configuration, testing and patching of Linux operating systems, web servers, application servers, databases, proxy servers
-Experience with Linux (Ubuntu, Red Hat, CentOS) server administration and administration of production environments is mandatory
-MySQL DBA skills and knowledge of SQL are required
-Knowledge of one of the following Scripting Languages Ruby/Python/Bash/Perl is required
-Knowledge of Chef Management tool is an advantage but optional
-Theoretical knowledge of IP networking and use of network devices such as Firewalls, Load Balancers, Switches and Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS)
-Knowledge of production system administration procedures (log management, backup and recovery, security) 

-Experience using open source tools including monitoring and alerting frameworks
-Availability for on-call schedule
-Must be fluent in English, written and verbal communication skills
-Prior experience in helping clients through the decision-making process
-Excellent time management and strong multi-tasking skills
-Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as a team member with minimal direction and with strong customer focus
-AWS certification is nice to have
-Knowledge of Chef Management tool is an advantage but optional
-E-commerce or similar web experience is preferred

-Design, operate and maintain high performance, high availability production websites running on the Amazon (AWS) cloud
-Highly automated environment design, configuration and provisioning using industry tools (Chef, CloudFormation, Vagrant, Berkshelf) in the “DevOps” style
-Systems Administration for a wide range of production Linux servers (Ubuntu, Red Hat, CentOS)
-Systems Administration for a range of development environments (OSX, Windows, Linux) and virtualization technologies (Docker, Virtualbox, VMWare)
-Operate and Maintain ecommerce websites in secure PCI compliant environments
-Creation, implementation and maintenance of common operations infrastructure such as centralized systems monitoring and alerting, consolidated logging, intrusion detection and capacity planning
-Working with our support group to maintain applications operating at the highest levels of performance
-Proactive and real-time monitoring of production websites and responding to alerts and outages within the required SLA
-Participate in root cause analysis of any non-application-related system fault
-Manage and enforce day-to-day operational tasks like log analysis, log rotation, web analytics, verify backups and resource monitoring
-Run quarterly vulnerability scans
-Assist in the investigation of operations and security incidents
-Advise application developers of current threats and trends and assist with application remediation
-Mentor more junior staff members and be a role model for best practices in technical development
-Analyze client business needs and recommend innovative solutions that leverage technology to provide better application performance and cost reductions
