Qualifications / experience:
Although not definitive, the ideal candidate will typically have the following:

Degree in Computer Science/Engineering, or equivalent;
5+ years application development experience including exposure to web technologies developed with Java/Webservices
Hands-on experience with Oracle database design and development (SQL, PL/SQL, DB concepts
Strong and operational knowledge in RDBMS/SQL life-cycle management, performance tuning and security
A successful track-record in full product lifecycle deliverables including delivering work on time with high quality, deploying and managing the solution
Python, Perl, Unix/Windows, Shell Scripting experience an advantage;
REST, JSP, Servlet, CSS, XML and HTML experience
Continuous Development and Integration Methodologies
Code Coverage tools usage an advantage
Solid verbal and written communication skills (in English);
Experience with Cloud Service development an advantage;
Experience in working with Oracle Weblogic Server an advantage
Experience with GitHub version controlled repository an advantage
Experience of working with large development teams; international experience is an advantage;

Position Description:

The Service Engineering Group, part of the European Development Center, develops cutting-edge software solutions to enable the Oracle Advanced Customer Services, Cloud Services & Support Service businesses.


We are looking for Senior DBA to be part of our continuously growing team of highly skilled professionals.



As a senior member of the team you will be responsible for engineering solutions used in the provision of advanced services to Oracle Customers. You will provide thought-leadership in the design and creation of these services in partnership with product management and delivery organizations. We focus on providing solutions that will enable the release of a continual value add to our customers.



We are looking particularly for individuals who have experience using the Oracle platform for development. Ideally the individual would also have experience in Oracle database and Weblogic software. The individual will work as part of a global organization in an engineering group that works with leading edge technology.



Current deliverables include the developing of the support platform for the delivery of advanced services to Oracle customer including for e.g. monitoring, security, configuration and performance.

Responsibilities:

Key tasks include but are not limited to the following:



Design, planning, development of engineering solutions;
Contribution to discussion on architecture for support platform solution;
Preparation of software specifications & supporting artifacts;
Creation of technical proof of concepts
Develop thought leadership, advice and guidance on the approach to the solution engineering;
Working with teams to develop solutions leveraging enterprise technology platforms;
Defining automated and engineered solutions to our business partners;
Work with the Product Management organization to develop the strategic direction and value proposition for your Services;
To be a champion for Service Engineering solutions Oracle;
To develop and maintain direct relationships with the appropriate external and internal stakeholders;
Willing and able to drive cross-team and global projects and initiatives;
