Compiler Development Engineer

Requirements:



Degree in Computer Science, Electronics or Mathematics/Informatics
BSEE or related degree and a minimum of three years experience, or a minimum of 7-10 years embedded compiler experience.
Knowledge of GCC internals/C compiler experience is preferable
Experience with embedded systems and developing compilers for embedded systems is a plus
Travel as required, nationally and internationally.

Job description:

This position is for an experienced embedded compiler developer. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing embedded, optimizing compilers for microcontrollers. The candidate will collaborate with fellow embedded compiler designers, applications and customer engineers.

The candidate will produce design documentation, write impeccable code to implement those designs, and thoroughly test work products at unit and system levels. The candidate will work with QA and Test engineers, review test results and seek mutually satisfactory resolutions in an egoless manner.

The candidate will comply with software development processes. The candidate will mentor situationally more junior engineers and counsel management in compiler-related areas. The candidate will consult with technical writers to produce best in class compiler documentation.



This position is for an experienced Compiler expert to take part in Microchip's global Tools development team.
