Build Engineer

As a provider of internal IT services for METRO GROUP, METRO SYSTEMS Romania provides specialized consulting to retail companies in all aspects of IT, develops specific solutions along the full value chain and provides a powerful IT infrastructure with a team of over 900 IT professionals.

For the development team of Metro Point of Sales application within Metro Systems we are looking for a determined, detail oriented Build Engineer to develop and improve the software build process.
The candidate will be responsible for the development and running of build scripts, installation procedures and systems including troubleshooting and fixing.
The Build Engineer will work closely with development and operation teams to ensure final versions are released in time and at high standards.

Knowledge & Skills

-Scripting language experience in at least two languages (Python, Windows batch, Groovy, C#, etc)
-Experience or background in Build and Release Engineering
-Experience with Version Control Systems (GIT, SVN, etc)
-Experience setting up and/or maintaining automated build system in Jenkins
-Understanding the integration between the build process and automated software test
-Experience for building .NET/Java solutions is considered a plus
-Experience in Linux Shell Scripting is a plus
-Knowledge of WiX Toolset is considered a plus
-Knowledge of VMWare is considered a plus
-Good written and verbal communication skills, advanced English
-Ability to work both individually and collaboratively in a team environment
-Good understanding of software development processes
-Ability to break down complicated problems into manageable components and work well in time-critical situations
