Purpose of the Role

The Database Architect is part of an international virtual team building a big data analytics system serving the recruitment industry in US. The product built turned our client into one of the most successful startup companies in 2012, currently the leading provider of recruitment marketing solutions. The unique algorithms, real time chart graphics and integrations make the product an ultimate technical challenge. Duties and Responsibilities

Xg Determine database structural requirements by analyzing client operations, applications, and programming

Xg Develop database solutions by designing proposed system, including defining database structure and functional capabilities, security, backup, and recovery specifications

Xg Write and oversee database documentation, procedures, definitions and data dictionary

Xg Install database systems and apply optimum access techniques, while coordinating installation actions

Xg Maintain database performance by identifying and resolving production and application development problems

Xg Provide database administration support when needed

Required Experience & Knowledge

Xg Experience designing and developing data architecture solutions including big data architecture and analytic solutions

Xg Strong background across all phases of data modeling, from conceptualization to database optimization

Xg Hands-on experience with high-scale or distributed RDBMS and NoSQL databases (PostgreSql, Cassandra)

Xg Proficiency in ElasticSearch gained through hands-on experience

Xg Familiarity working with web and database application development tools, standards and languages like SQL, XML, Java, JSP, web services, Javascript

Xg Knowledge of cloud computing infrastructure (Amazon Web Services EC2, Elastic MapReduce etc.) and considerations for scalable, distributed systems

Skills and Attributes

Xg Business awareness and understanding of business requirements of IT

Required Education & Qualifications

Xg Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related experience
