UC Tools & Monitoring Engineer - 2nd Line Operations

Vodafone is looking for a senior sys-admin engineer for an internal support role.

You will work within an already established Unified Communications team that provides 2nd line support for Vodafone’s enterprise customers.



To qualify, you will need to have a very good understanding in at least 2 of the following 3 areas:

- UNIX/LINUX ( server maintenance, upgrades, iptables, cron etc.)

- NETWORKING ( excellent grasp of networking concepts and protocols)

- SCRIPTING ( ability to automate tasks by writing scripts in any programming language)

Your day to day will consist of various improvement projects in areas such as:

- Internal tools (looking at the capabilities of the tools the team uses to perform troubleshooting and other tasks)

- Monitoring (understanding how alarms are configured, modifying kpis, thinking about new kpis)

- Task automation ( creating efficiency by improving how we work - automating certain tasks)
