Deutsche Bank is looking for full-time Data Architects to build the kind of global systems that will underpin and drive our global business. As a Data Architect you’ll help us get there. Based in The Romania Technology Centre, Bucharest we are seeking experienced professionals who value teamwork, pioneering technology and innovation. Chief Data Office is one of the youngest departments in Bucharest. Our main focus is building the future Data Sourcing platform for the bank, in order to address increased demands coming from all domains and worldwide regulators. The new platform is based on latest technologies like: AngularJS, Bootstrap, Java 8, Web Services, Spring, Oracle PL/SQL, Apache Camel. The department has been staffed for end-to-end delivery, having all areas of professionals covered – analysis, development, testing, project management, release management.

We are extremely oriented towards agile practices – SAFe, SCRUM, Kanban, Continuous Integration, and we have the best toolset to support our work: JIRA, Confluence, Git Stash, Sonar, TeamCity etc.

Position Overview

As a Data Architect your main responsibilities will involve:

• Work together with our analyst colleagues in CDO and abroad to define and implement data related components for Chief Data Office
• Propose and promote best practices in the area of data architecture
• Proactively identify and promote improvements and optimizations in the data architecture area
• Lead design workshops for data related items
• Execute reviews of technical documentation and code reviews, from the point of view of respecting the principles and rules of data architecture
• Delivering and presenting proof of concept solutions to senior management
• Design and implement the performance and scalability aspects of the data related components  

As a Data Architect your skills will include: 

• Extensive experience delivering complex database intensive solutions (ideally but not restricted to banking and/or financial institutions)
• Demonstrable experience of driving solution implementation from design through all delivery phases
• Fluent and efficient in creating Technical Architecture Documentation, presentations and sales pitches
• Stakeholder management experience
• 8+ years hands on experience with Oracle database and related technologies. This includes PL/SQL development, performance optimization techniques, partitioning and indexing techniques, data replication solutions (Data Guard, Golden Gate),  back-up and recovery, high availability and failover solution (RAC)
• 5+ years of experience in designing and working with large scale data models. Experience of data modelling tools such as Power Designer, Liffey or ErWIn is required
• DWH experience (star schema modelling and implementation)
• ETL experience (tools like Informatica, OBIEE)
• Experience with agile methodologies (ideally Scrum or SAFe)
• Clear & confident technical communication skills in English
