BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Fundamentals in data structures, object-oriented design, algorithms and complexity analysis
· Excellent problem-solving skills, a solid understanding of computer science fundamentals, and a quantitative mindset.
· Excellent command of English (spoken and written)
· Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, actively pursuing a technical degree.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, C/C++ or C#.
· Understanding of Networking protocols
· Familiarity with command line tools available on Linux or Unix variants.

The Amazon Web Services team in Romania is looking for talented engineers to contribute to Amazon Simple Email Service (http://aws.amazon.com/ses), the highly scalable cloud-based service for businesses and developers.

Amazon SES sends billions of emails every year to our customers all over the world. We work on every part of Amazon SES, including product requirements and design, business planning, technology and innovation, along with other areas unique to email and cloud computing space.

As a member of the SES team you will work on a cost-effective, scalable, robust set of services that takes email sending requests from customers, processes them as needed and hands them off to the ISPs as quickly as possible. You get to design, build and own services that scale linearly with traffic on multiple dimensions. You will work on building software to get legitimate emails straight to the recipient’s inbox while detecting and keeping spammers at bay. You will have to fight a relentless battle against the bad guys of the email world to prevent them from taking advantage of our highly scalable cost effective platform.
