Java Protocol Developer-Timisoara

Job Requirements:

- You have at least 3-5 years of Java programming experience.
- You have strong knowledge of object-orientated programming and design patterns.
- Making your implementations robust for large volumes is a goal for you.
- You can quickly understand, use and improve custom frameworks already available.
- You have a test-driven development approach.
- You integrate well in a team of developers and testers but are also a self-starter who has the ability to learn new material quickly.
- You work analytical, structured and accurately.
- You document were necessary.

Specific domain knowledge (nice to have):
- Experience in device-communication protocols (e.g. DLMS, ANSI C12, IEC1107, M-Bus, Modbus).
- Experience in any type of communication with a remote terminal unit.
- Knowledge of metering or general energy measurement concepts.

Nice to have:
- Oracle experience and concepts.
- Experience with IntelliJ, Maven, GIT, SVN.
- Experience working in larger scale projects.
- Experience in continuous integration projects (Bamboo).
- Experience with Atlassian tools: Jira, Confluence.

Job Responsibilities:

- You will be part of a software engineering team that is responsible for the development and for the maintenance of our smart metering device communication protocols.
- You will be responsible for the analysis, design, and development and testing of new protocol, according to provided specifications.
- You will be responsible for the maintenance and for third level support of the existing protocol installation base.
- You will work with real physical devices and with self-maintained simulating tools.
- You will be working closely together with international colleagues.
- You will be a key contributor in our Agile software.
