TCM Data Team Leader

Mission

• Effectively leading the TCM data team to deliver on commitments related to ALMR technical component data gathering & maintenance, SPCN process, evolving processes, exploratory and continuous improvement metrics & programs
• The Technical Commodity Management (TCM) organization is a corporate centralized function within global Product Procurement in charge of identifying, analyzing and implementing data changes on components primarily located within the ALMR database.
• With basic knowledge of component technologies and the internal ALU organization, he/she collects, routes, evaluates and implements changes on the technical properties of items and the authorized manufacturers lists (AML) of these items.
• Accurate maintenance of technical data and AMLs is key to facilitate component selection, standardization ( increased negotiation leverage and inventory reduction) and to produce ALU product as designed and qualified
• New Device Requests, Environmental data e.g. RoHS, Component Lifecycle Changes, Change Orders initiated by Component Engineers, R&D or manufacturing are typical areas for which either technical data or AML data needs to be collected, verified, changed.
• Commodity code allocation: The data team is a center of excellence for commodity code allocation, particularly for new component families and not mapped material families
• As part of managing the global Supplier Product Change Notice ( SPCN), this team is responsible for filtering and ranking SPCN’s by importance and detailing of SPCN to the affected manufacturer and Internal ALU part numbers. For high importance SPCN, the data manager performs where-used for affected products and routes to affected areas (technologist experts, Product Component Engineers,..)
• As the business evolves and opportunities are seen to further optimize and improve quality, efficiencies, etc. this team is involved in collecting, analyzing, recommending and implementing continuous improvement processes and procedures

• Experience in data mining techniques and procedures
• Expertise to acquire, manage, manipulate, analysis, report and correct technical component related data
• Technical expertise regarding data models and database design development. An understanding of XML and SQL
• Proficient in practical tools such as Excel, Access, and relational DB’s
• Knowledge of statistics
• Electrical/Electronics technical background

• Engineering or technical background combined with a Business degree or practical knowledge combined with expertise i n component and material technologies and regulations such as Substance Material Management
