Databases & Middleware Expert

Hunt Group – a mix of recruitment (executive search and head hunting) and outsourcing activities in industries such as IT, oil&gas, banking, finance and automotive.

- University degree or higher in IT or equivalent education along with advanced occupational experience in IT
- 5 years overall working experience, 3+ years experience in Oracle/ DB2 database administration and support in 24x7 production environments
- Experience in database administration:
* installation, configuration, administration, upgrade
* monitoring, troubleshooting
* performance analysis and tuning
- Experience in administrating databases in a cluster environment (Linux / Windows clusters)
- Experience in implementing / managing internal and external database security and access control
- Experience in database backup &recovery; management, maintenance & development of backup/restore procedures
- Experience with Oracle SQL *Plus / SQL Server T-SQL; reviewing and tuning SQL/PL-SQL code
- Experience in Windows/UNIX Operating Systems, Windows scripting and batch programming/ Unix shell or Pearl scripting
- Intermediate command of English (written and spoken)
- Experience in disaster recovery scenarios, business continuity - will be considered a plus

- Responsible for supporting the Oracle and DB2 Databases company environment and ensuring their performance, availability and security
- Complex Database Administration according to defined Service Level Agreements, respecting the principles and guidelines in place
- Middleware architecture & products administration
- Applies independently the knowledge from area of expertise in accordance with the business requirements and gives guidance to more junior colleagues for problem solving / issue resolution
- Identifies potential risks in area of expertise and proposes respective solutions for risk mitigation
- Manages the delivery of IT services according to SLA, end to end
- Responsible for (contributes to) the definition of the SLA and new services
- WebLogic knowledge and skills is considered a plus
