IT Network Services Manager, London, UK

The post holder is accountable for the daily performance and availability of the Gatwick IT Network and Telecommunicaitons which is of critical importance to the operation of the Airport. The IT Network is essential for the safe and efficient operation of airfield operations, baggage, security and airlines. The network is also depended upon by retailers, passengers, back office staff and the overall eco system of the airport.
The post holder manages the performance of the suppliers who provide IT network services to to the airport. In the next 3 months this role will also oversee the transition of the network and telecommunications services contract from supplier A to supplier B.

• Experience in managing complex IT networks in a large campus.
• Managing vendor performance for large contracts.
• Experience of the aviation industry and aviation solutions is preferable.
• Understanding of complex and highly integrated IT environments.
• Budget management and control experience.
• Network technology experience and qualifications.

• The role carries the responsibility for managing vendor performance and costs of IT Network Services.
• The role will contribute to the overall IT strategy and will play an integral role in the Network Service Transition Processes.
• The role will be expected to interact with all departments at the airport and with customer and partner organisations.

• Assurance of the network contract transition.
• Ensure that the IT Network and Telecommunications Services are secure, reliable, cost effective and fit for purpose.
• Manage vendors of our IT Network and Telecommunications Services to defined service levels and ensure IT industry best practice is followed to deliver service efficiently.
• Engage with projects and ensure that new network services and solutions meet operational requirements, ensuring smooth transition to support. A network renewal programme is in flight.
• Responsible for annual operating cost of £1.6 million. Manage network operating cost to plan and contribute to annual budget planning.
• Develop and maintain a documented road map for the networking products that we support; ensuring that these plans are understood and followed by members of the team.
• Ensure SLA’s are met for internal and external customers.
• Provide management with KPI based reports for all network services.
• Contribute to contract / vendor strategy.
