• Previous Linux system administration experience
• Python, PowerShell and Bash programming skills
• SQL/Oracle querying skills
• General understanding of software engineering methods (in particular Agile/Scrum)
• Experience with web servers (Apache/Tomcat) and understanding of web application architectures (Reverse Proxy/Load balancing)
• Understanding of system and application monitoring paradigms and experience with System and application monitoring tools
• Experience with installation and configuration of applications
• Virtualization and data center experience
• Administration and usage experience with tools for software development, issue tracking, source code control, source code review and continuous builds
• Strong focus on Customer and peer relationships
• Ability to learn new skills and technologies quickly and independently
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Independent problem-solving skills
• Ability to think on your feet, efficient problem analysis and resolution
• Experience of working in a dynamic and diverse team
• Experience guiding and mentoring other team members
• Familiarity with VMware virtualization technology
• JVM performance tuning
• Working knowledge of Atlassian products (JIRA, Confluence etc.) would be a big plus

• Participate in configuring, implementing, and supporting the applications
• Maintain the servers and other infrastructure used to host applications
• Ensure Systems stability and uptime to meet committed service level agreements
• Troubleshoot and resolve systems issues as they arise
• Maintain the security of systems and proactively address vulnerabilities
• Manage virtualization platforms
• Monitor the usage of physical infrastructure resources such as disk space
• Assist in the investigation of performance issues
• Provide OS expertise
• Design and implement utilities for automation and provisioning
• Audit infrastructure periodically
• Provide input for resource capacity planning
• Create, maintain, and improve system integration scripts
• Create and maintain technical documentation
