    Requirements

    The QS Intelligence Unit (Part of QS Quacquarelli Symonds), is one of the world’s leading compilers of independent market research and institutional evaluations in international higher education. The unit (QSIU) publishes a range of highly visible and influential rankings of international universities including the QS World University Rankings®, a range of reports on the trends and opinions of internationally mobile students and the viewpoint of employers as well as operating a range of commercially successful reporting, evaluation and bespoke consultancy services for individual universities.
    QSIU is seeking a motivated individual to take up a position of Junior Analyst. Working closely with colleagues in both our Bucharest and London offices, this position will require a combination of drive, analytical capability, knowledge and interest in higher education and creativity. It will involve the application of relevant knowledge, expertise and analytical abilities to commercial contracts, as well as contributing to other research outputs of the unit including the QS World University Rankings which has a global audience in the 100s of millions.
    The Role
    You will have strong analytical insight and familiarity with working with large and diverse data sets. The experience you have working with data will be strong, and you’ll have advanced knowledge of working with various software packages to manipulate data. This knowledge will be something you can adapt to quickly learning new systems. You will have a keen eye for detail and enjoy working in an environment where you spend large amounts of time focusing on specifics of data. As well as undertaking your day to day work, you will be constantly looking for ways to improve processes and will actively take a lead in your own professional development.
    You will also have strong communication skills, and be able and have conversations in English with clients and colleagues from around the world, as well as being comfortable writing to them too. An effective team player, you will bring a flexible attitude in to the office with you every day - being equally prepared to contribute to team-wide data collection and validation efforts, as you will be to work on your own initiative on your own allocated analysis projects.

    Highly adaptable and quick learner
    Strong data skills with expert knowledge of Excel or equivalent data software and some experience of working with SQL. Experience working with Tableau would be a further advantage.
    A professional attitude and a strong work ethic
    Ability to analyse quantitative and qualitative data and to synthesise clear narratives and conclusions
    Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English, another european language represents a plus
    Ability to manage workload and competing deadlines with minimal hand holding
    Direct client contact experience at some level with a focus on customer satisfaction
    Interest in, or experience in working in Higher Education sector desirable

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities include:
    Producing, checking and troubleshooting on analytical dashboards for clients
    Undertaking self-directed desk based research and delivering data-rich projects on the higher education sector
    Detailed validation of data
    Answering questions from clients
    Working with other analysts based both in Bucharest and London to ensure the dashboards and reports are of impeccable quality
    Developing and maintaining both personal and organisational expertise in the area of institutional research in higher education
