PHP Automations Developer

For our client a well-known leader in personal systems and printing, we are looking for a PHP Automations Developer.

The PHP Automations Developer role is responsible to provide programming capabilities, IT skills and knowledge to deliver new automations, tools and IT process improvements to operations to meet pre-defined efficiency targets. Responsible to contribute to or lead and own IT improvements and IT projects (tools, automations) for the given Center/Cluster(s).

Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in related field of expertise with a focus on information technologies or business or economics;
- Minimum 1-3 years working experience; experience in Operations or similar preferred;
- Minimum 3 years development experience using PHP;
- Demonstrated project management experience;
- Proven experience in handling end to end project life cycle;
- Proven track record in driving efficiency improvements;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment;
- Creativity, results and success oriented attitude, fast learner;
- Good interpersonal and communication and consulting skills;
- Excellent command of English language;
- Team player;
- Ability to work independently.

Required:
- Extensive experience in design and development of web applications with PHP, HTML, CSS and JS;
- Experience with MySQL;
- Experience with Laravel or Symfony;
- Good understanding of unit testing and code quality standards;
- Extensive experience with Linux and the command line;
- Close familiarity with modern front-end frameworks and tooling;
- Solid foundations in computer science fundamentals, object oriented programming, design patterns and software engineering best practices.

Extra Points for:
- Familiarity with TDD and BDD;
- Experience with CentOS/RHEL;
- Experience with MS SQL and Oracle databases;
- Knowledge of configuration management and infrastructure automations (and tools like Ansible);
- Close familiarity with any of the following is a plus: Nginx, Redis, PHPUnit, C#, SASS, Webpack, Gulp, NPM/Yarn, Browserify, VueJS, jQuery, Angular, React.

Responsibilities:

- Deliver process improvement objectives within the pre-defined automation scope;
- Proactively research for new tools and automations in operations within area of responsibility;
- Program new tools and automations using programming languages and available platforms to deliver operations efficiencies according to plan established by Automations Team Coordinators;
- Identify opportunities to expand the deployment of existing productivity tools;
- Document all new tools and automations in the Regional Desktop Automations database, ensure the inventory of desktop automation solutions used is complete and up to date, and stays current;
- Support all tools and automations after delivery according to the established Automations Support model;
- Generate new capabilities and ideas/platforms/languages of IT improvements;
- Explore available technologies and 3rd party tools in the market that may fill these;
- Look at current desktop automation solutions and determine if there are standard, IT-supported solutions that could/should be used instead;
- Constantly develop programming skills;
- Provide direction to IT experts and teams for current tools and automations;
- Own operations IT improvement projects and act as consultant to operations for IT domain/process expertise;
- Provide IT support to key stakeholders and engagement partners;
- Provide IT programming trainings as required.
