Junior Extra Low Voltage Engineer

Hunt Group – a mix of recruitment (executive search and head hunting) and outsourcing activities in industries such as IT, oil&gas, banking, finance and automotive.

Responsibilities
The main task will be to design electrical installations in commercial and industrial buildings per European, Romanian and Swedish regulations as well as internal standards:
♣ Drafting 3D drawings for cable trays and extra low voltage systems (fire alarm, security, data-voice etc.)
♣ Cable sizing and cable type selection
♣ Schematics for extra low voltage systems
♣ Prepare bill of quantities;
♣ Cable schedules
♣ Follow in full the QA processes relevant to project work, ensuring drawings, specifications, reports and correspondence are prepared, issued, filed and archived in an appropriate manner, in accordance with the company’s QA protocols
Further responsibilities include:
♣ Carry out discipline designs to required standards and quality;
♣ Coordinate with CAD Technicians concerning project requirements and timelines;
♣ Ensure that all designs are reviewed to the required
♣ Stay updated with relevant technical developments within the discipline;
♣ Understand the contract and scope of project deliverables;
♣ Ensure that Health & Safety is embedded into all work practices in line with company policies;
♣ Ensure statutory and regulatory requirements are met;
♣ Provide regular work status updates, including risks or concerns, to the Line Manager;
♣ Attend and contribute in team and project meetings as required;
♣ Contribute to the delivery of the BU strategy including supporting the companies approach to sustainability;
♣ Ensure QMS and Project Lifecycle compliance across team and projects;
♣ Complete accurate timesheets by set deadline;
♣ Feedback on all business development opportunities;
♣ Prepare services drawings for extra low voltage systems including fire alarm systems, intruder alert systems, access control systems, public address and voice alarm systems, data-voice systems, CO detection, CH4 detection etc. in 2D or 3D as required;

Prepare calculation reports and cable schedules
♣ Size and choose cable types using various software packages;
♣ Prepare all required ELV schematics and equipment inter-connection details;
♣ Write the specification for the projects and establish the schedules for all equipment;
♣ Prepare bill of quantities;
♣ Prepare due diligence reports;
♣ Coordinate with the Mechanical design engineers and all other relevant disciplines;
♣ Liaise with the design team members to convey the requirements of the Mechanical and Electrical service to them, as well as understanding the client brief;

Requirements
♣ ONLY Electrical Engineering Bachelor degree accepted;
♣ Authorization for design of extra low voltage systems is an advantage
♣ Minimum 1-3 years’ experience of designing electrical extra low voltage systems in a variety of building types;
♣ Project experience should include participation from the design phase through the final construction close-out;
♣ Working knowledge of design capability;
♣ Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering information
♣ Very good skills in AutoCAD
♣ Experience of MagicCAD or similar electrical 3D design software is an advantage
♣ Good skills in Microsoft Office
♣ Experience in NavisWorks, Solibri or Revit is an advantage but not a requirement.
♣ Experience in using specific software programs (CCTV design, data-voice configuration, etc.) is an advantage;


Personal qualities:
♣ Ability to work in a team and demonstrate work and moral ethics
♣ Ability to respect deadlines and achieve targeted results whilst working individually
♣ Very good verbal and written communication skills in the English language
♣ Experience of the Swedish market is an advantage
♣ Special consideration will be given to candidates who speak Swedish
♣ Good knowledge of European building and energy codes
♣ Availability to travel
