    Job Description (Roles and Responsibilities)  
    The British Embassy in Bucharest is part of a world-wide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is now looking to recruit an intern to assist with Embassy events management and promote locally-run soft-power campaign #BritaininRomania.

     

    Main Duties and Responsibilities :

    Support for Embassy teams in the planning and execution of public events;
    Contact building and maintenance of current contact data bases;
    Updates on the Embassy social media channels;
    Translations from English to Romanian and vice versa.

    Essential qualifications and experience  
    Excellent command of English (demonstrated by either relevant certificates or graduation of an English-speaking academic programme);
    Master’s candidate or BA graduate, preferably in Political Sciences  or Journalism & Communication;
    Demonstrated interest in European Affairs;
    Good personal communication and organisational skills. Early morning starter;
    Good drafting skills;Very good IT and social media skills (MS Office, Outlook, Internet browsing). Knowledge of desktop publishing software (Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop) is a plus;
    Availability for full-time employment for six months, starting January 2017;
    Desirable qualifications and experience  
    Available to work outside of office hours and on weekends on occasions, if the situation requires.

    Other benefits and conditions of employment  

    This is a full-time position (35 hours per week) for a fixed period of 6 months with possible opportunity for extension depending on resources.

    Additional information  
    The successful candidate will be subject to confirmation of a background check and security clearances, and satisfactory completion of a probationary period of one month and is expected to commence employment as soon as possible after the selection process is completed.

    Staff recruited locally by the British Embassy are subject to terms and conditions service according to Romanian employment law.
