    Requirements

    WHAT DO I NEED TO DEMONSTRATE?


    Education and Experience

    Educated to degree level or equivalent
    Qualified or studying towards professional accounting qualification (eg CIMA, ACA, ACCA)
    Proficient with Microsoft Office Excel — Required; Experience with Word, PowerPoint, and Access - Preferred

    Preferred Criteria

    Experience of payroll activities
    Experience working in a shared services, process driven or service center environment
    Strong understanding of accounting principles and US GAAP
    Expertise in Record to Report function including best practices, technologies, processes, procedures and tools
    Training and certification in Six Sigma or LEAN
    Experience working for a multinational organization and working with colleagues internationally

    Responsibilities

    JOB SUMMARY


    Works closely with HR Payroll and payroll providers to ensure payroll transactions are correctly recorded in the company’s financial records.


    WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

    Work with local payroll providers to prepare and post accurate payroll actuals and accruals in line with accounting standards.
    Liaise with HRSS and payroll providers to resolve any queries on the payroll bookings on a timely basis.
    Prepare and review payroll balance sheet accounts in ERA within the required deadlines, reconcile payroll P&L accounts to payroll files, reconcile PAYE and local returns to general ledger and identify and resolve issues with HR support.
    Ensure that management reports are issued to local market finance / cost centre contacts on a timely basis and that queries are followed up in a timely manner.
    Assist with preparation of audit files for external audits of markets and assist with audit queries during external audits of markets
    Ensure that RTR deliverables meet or exceed level of quality and are delivered within a strong internal control framework; abiding by Kellogg Corporate Accounting Policy and ensuring that all transactions conform with statutory, fiscal and corporate legislation requirements including S404 and Roupee, in addition to internal standards such as full and detailed version controlled Process Documentation.
    Review all processes regularly to ensure that there are effective controls in place to minimize risk to the business results
    Ensure the integrity of underlying accounting records via monthly balance sheet reconciliation preparation process.
    Minimise reconciliation control issues across European business by participating in Quality Reconciliation Review process, providing feedback and guidance on best practice to reconciliation preparers and reviewers
    Highlight S404 control failures to Finance Manager (Payroll) and S404 team and ensure any new processes are reflected and updated during document scrubs. Be a S404 tester as part of the S404 tester pool during at least one round of testing per year.
    Identify and minimise control weakness issues or non compliance with Corporate Policy (US GAAP) requiring retrospective adjustment and/or declaration on quarterly Representation Letters with the aim to prevent risk to reported results and safeguard company assets.
