Senior Functional Test Engineer (F/M) - Marquardt

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Functional Test Specialist to join our engineering team and contribute to the validation and verification of automotive embedded systems.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, executing, and documenting functional software and system tests while ensuring compliance with industry standards and development processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze system and software requirements and derive comprehensive test cases and test scenarios.

• Ensure traceability between requirements and test cases.

• Plan, execute, and document software and system-level tests.

• Apply appropriate test methodologies and test design techniques.

• Perform testing activities according to V-Model, ASPICE, and Agile development processes.

• Validate ECU functionality using CAN and LIN communication protocols.

• Develop and maintain automated test scripts using CAPL and/or C/C++.

• Identify, document, and track defects in close collaboration with development teams.

• Prepare and maintain test reports and test completion documentation.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Automation, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related technical field.

• Minimum of 9 years of experience in automotive functional software and/or system testing.

• Strong knowledge of software and system testing methods, techniques, and best practices.

• Solid understanding of electronics fundamentals.

• Hands-on experience with CAN and LIN communication protocols.

• Experience with automotive test tools such as CANoe, CANalyzer, etc.

• Programming experience in CAPL and/or C/C++.

• Knowledge of ECU diagnostics and embedded systems.

• Familiarity with V-Model, ASPICE, and Agile development methodologies.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Good command of English, both written and spoken.

Nice to Have

• Experience in test automation and scripting.

• ISTQB certification or equivalent testing qualification.
