Reporting into the Head of Operational Strategy, P&C, the Data & Information Governance Lead plays a critical role in shaping how P&C Operations uses data, information and insight to drive informed decision-making, support strategic delivery and ensure alignment with enterprise data and governance standards. Operating at the intersection of information management, strategic communications and functional enablement, this role is central to ensuring SCOR is an organisation deeply and effectively informed by data.
A key part of the role is to objectively assess the maturity of our data and information governance environment - evaluating how well information is owned, structured and used across (and beyond) P&C Operations. Through this, the role identifies gaps, defines optimal frameworks for data and reporting governance and partners with teams across P&C to enable their execution of plans that will move the organisation toward a more mature, insight-driven operating model. By aligning closely with the Operational Frameworks and Risk Frameworks functions, the role ensures SCOR's approach to performance, control and risk information is integrated, consistent and optimised to support both compliance and strategic outcomes.
This position plays a vital role in aligning strategy, insight and governance - helping to ensure P&C Operations is empowered by high-quality information and equipped to make better decisions, faster.
Key duties and responsibilities
1- Information Governance Framework Development
Define and develop information governance frameworks that improve how data is owned, structured and used across P&C Operations
Ensure these frameworks are practical, scalable and aligned to enterprise-wide data and analytics strategies
Partner with teams across P&C Operations to understand current practices and translate them into consistent standards that support informed, high-quality decision-making
Gain alignment with SCOR Group and P&C teams on embedding SCOR values within the P&C data strategy
2- Maturity Assessment & Target-State Design
Objectively assess the current maturity of information governance and reporting practices across P&C Operations
Identify weaknesses, gaps and inconsistencies in how information is sourced, managed and communicated
Shape a clear and actionable vision of the target state, outlining the steps needed to evolve from current practice to a more governed and effective information model
3- Cross-Framework Integration & Alignment
Work closely with the Operational Frameworks and Risk Frameworks functions to ensure a coherent and integrated approach to how operational, risk and performance information is governed and structured
4- Enablement & Execution Support
Steer teams across P&C Operations on proper adoption and embedment of improved information practices, through guidance, templates, coaching and collaboration
Act as a subject matter partner to help others deliver their change agendas in line with the target-state information governance model
5- Strategic Messaging & Leadership Engagement
Develop strategic narratives that explain and reinforce the value of strong governance to leadership audiences, support/facilitate governance activities as needed
Working in close partnership with the Head of P&C Operations and the Head of Operational Strategy, P&C, identify emerging information-related risks, gaps or themes across P&C Operations
6- Stakeholder Partnership & Influence
Act as the trusted liaison between P&C Operations and transverse data and analytics teams - ensuring alignment of standards, priorities and expectations
Support a culture of evidence-based decision-making, transparency and continuous improvement across the wider P&C Operations team
Required experience & competencies
Experience in operational strategy, risk, data governance or information management, ideally within a complex, regulated environment
Familiarity with enterprise data strategy principles (e.g. data ownership, lineage, quality, stewardship)
Proven ability to assess, design and implement frameworks or structured approaches that improve how information is used, governed or communicated across teams
Exposure to strategic change initiatives or transformation programmes, with a focus on enabling capability uplift rather than direct project delivery
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Communication: Superior communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences (confident with presentation decks, data, storyboarding and reporting to executive leadership teams)
Highly organised with excellent delivery
Ability to adapt to changing business environments and drive continuous improvement.
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders at multiple levels and across disciplines (e.g. Operations, Risk, Tech, Data)
A forward-thinking approach with a passion for driving innovation and operational excellence
Occasional travel to SCOR overseas offices may be required.
Required Education
Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field where strong quantitative skills are required
A postgraduate qualification (e.g. MSc, MBA or equivalent) is advantageous but not essential
Equivalent professional experience in strategic roles related to data, governance or operational effectiveness will also be considered in place of formal qualification
