Requirements

We are recruiting a Senior Power BI Developer with strong SQL and SSRS experience. for a global organization undergoing a significant digital transformation. The company is developing a cloud-based data platform to support smarter decision-making and sustainable growth.

You’ll work on a next‑gen cloud data platform, take ownership of Power BI dashboards and paginated reports, optimize SQL solutions, and collaborate closely with the Head of BI to elevate reporting standards across the business.

The role is based in Bucharest, hybrid, with collaboration available either on CIM or B2B, depending on your preference.

Required Skills & Experience

At least 5 years of experience in SQL development and enterprise reporting/BI delivery.

Strong SQL expertise (advanced queries, window functions, optimization, stored procedures, performance tuning).

Experience developing operational/paginated reports (Power BI Paginated Reports and/or SSRS).

Solid experience building interactive Power BI dashboards and reports.

Ability to define KPIs, reconcile metrics, and ensure consistency across reporting layers.

Strong stakeholder management and ability to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.

Nice to have

Experience with semantic models and dimensional modeling (star schemas, measures, DAX).

Exposure to Microsoft Fabric and/or Azure data services.

Experience with Git or similar version control systems.

Nice to have: experience with reporting migrations (SSRS → Power BI) and platform standardization.

Nice to have: familiarity with ERP and manufacturing data sources (SAP, MES).

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

SQL Engineering & Performance

Design, develop, and optimize complex SQL solutions (views, stored procedures, functions, data marts) for analytics and reporting.

Lead performance tuning initiatives, including indexing strategies, execution plan analysis, and workload optimization.

Define reusable SQL patterns and coding standards to ensure maintainability and consistency across BI solutions.

Report Development Leadership

Own the end-to-end delivery of operational and paginated reports (Power BI Paginated Reports and/or SSRS).

Lead the development of interactive Power BI dashboards, ensuring usability, performance, and adherence to design standards.

Translate ambiguous business questions into clear report specifications, KPIs, and drill-through logic.

Establish and enforce reporting standards (parameterization, layouts, naming conventions, documentation, testing)

Data Quality, Definitions & Governance

Align reporting outputs with trusted datasets, semantic models, and standardized KPI definitions.

Implement validation and reconciliation routines to ensure accuracy, consistency, and auditability.

Identify data quality issues and drive upstream improvements across source systems, ETL processes, and data models.

Stakeholder & Project Ownership

Lead requirements workshops and manage expectations across multiple business functions.

Plan reporting deliverables, estimate effort, prioritize backlog items, and coordinate releases.

Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, ensuring solutions are scalable and aligned with business priorities.

Operational Excellence

Maintain clear documentation for SQL logic, report definitions, and data sources.

Support structured deployment processes using version control and release management practices. Ensure reporting solutions comply with security, access control, and internal governance policies
