Secure by Design Expert - Network

Your day to Day

You will be part of the Secure by Design Networks Team, functionally report into the Networks Team Manager, and engage with the business functions to understand their future roadmaps and will ensure that appropriate Cyber Security engagement takes place to support these roadmaps. You will also be responsible for providing technical leadership and task direction to Secure by Design Specialists as well as Cyber Security Champions across Technology and other business functions.

You will work with project teams to produce solutions that comply with both Vodafone's Global security policies and standards, plus Local Market specific security requirements. The role requires a recent hands-on background with a wide range of security and network technologies.

You will apply subject matter expertise to secure our networks, products and services

You will ensure project designs comply with Baseline Security Requirements and security policy

You will ensure that projects integrate with security baseline controls such as IPS/IDS, WAF, Firewall Change Management, Identity & Access Management, SIEM and Vulnerability Management

You will ensure internal customers, external suppliers and delivery partners are aware of security standards and future strategy to influence development roadmaps

You will identify security risks, manage them with key stakeholders, and provide recommendations for risk mitigation

You will build relationships with your stakeholder community across the Vodafone business

You will escalate deviations from baseline security requirements and security architecture

You will provide advice and guidance to SbD Managers, Specialists and Cyber Security Champions.

You will approve designs that comply with policies and standards and are within parameters set by the Secure by Design Managers

You will escalate designs which deviate from policies, standards and parameters set by the Secure by Design Managers

You will raise risks and exceptions as appropriate to track deviation from policy

You will propose solutions to correct security defects and deviation from policy

Identifies opportunities to improve process efficiency

• You are competent in understanding network designs and equipment configurations used to deliver a wide range of IT and telecommunications solutions
• You are competent in applying security policies and principles defined in security architecture to real world scenarios
• You understand and applies risk management principles
• You have effective communication skills to influence stakeholders and explain complex security requirements in simple terms
• Stakeholder Management - established as the go-to person for any project issues impacting on Corporate & External Affairs teams
• Establishing and maintaining single point of contact relationship with key project manager(s)
