Data Solution Architect

As a Data Solution Architect - Sustainability Solutions, you will be responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of IT solutions that advance Emerson's sustainability goals and strategies. You will work closely with product owners, developers, data engineers, enterprise architects, technology leaders, and business partners to understand requirements, design organizationally aligned technical solutions, and improve the quality and value of delivered systems. 

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Defining, documenting, and championing the IT architectural vision, standards, and patterns for sustainability compliance solutions

• Analyzing business requirements and crafting technical solutions aligned with enterprise architecture and sustainability regulations (e.g., CBAM, EPR, EUDR, CSRD)

• Maintaining an understanding of evolving sustainability regulations and guiding architectural direction for future compliance

• Collaborating with multi-functional teams (business analysts, developers, testers, stakeholders) to deliver solutions that add measurable business value

• Reviewing and validating solution designs, tools, and documentation for quality and compliance with architectural standards

• Providing technical leadership, resolving sophisticated issues, and promoting knowledge sharing within the sustainability solution team

• Participating in architectural governance and alignment forums in partnership with Enterprise Architects

• Supervising technology vendor landscapes and leading solution selection to onboard best-fit sustainability platforms as the market evolves

For This Role, You Will Need:

• At least 5 years in an IT solution architecture role, with experience developing data, analytics, and reporting solutions

• Foundational knowledge of procurement, logistics, order management, and product lifecycle management business processes

• Experience with Azure Cloud and the Synapse Analytics platform

• Understanding of various data and analytics technologies, such as SQL, NoSQL, ETL, BI, data warehouse, data lake, data quality, data governance, and data security

• Experience crafting and implementing IT solutions in sustainability domains, with knowledge of carbon reporting, resource efficiency, waste management, or sustainable product design regulations a plus

• Ability to balance short-term project requirements with long-term architectural strategy, and to work across architectural domains to develop solutions aligned with organizational direction.

• Adept at collaborating and communicating with colleagues at all levels of seniority and across business domains, including Enterprise Architects, with whom you will jointly shape reference architectures and architectural strategy

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart: 

• Knowledge and/or certification in the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) architecture methodology

• A background in developing auditable IT solutions for regulatory reporting
