Requirements

We have an opportunity for a Data Scientist Intern to join our Smart Energy - Connected Utility - Application Engineering team in Bucharest.

As a Data Scientist Intern, you will play a key role in transforming data into actionable insights using SQL, Grafana, and other advanced analytics tools. You will work closely with our data and business teams to develop visually compelling Power BI reports and SQL analytics dashboards, leveraging PostgreSQL in an Azure cloud environment.

This role is part of our University Relations program, designed to help students and recent graduates launch their careers with hands-on experience, mentorship, and opportunities for growth within Honeywell

This is a hybrid role, 3 days at the office + 2 days work from home model.

The internship will last for 12 months.

Key skills and qualifications

Final Year Student (within Bachelor Degree Program) or Student at Masters Program
Fluent: English
Proficiency in SQL, preferable on PostgreSQL databases
Familiarity creating dashboards and visualizations using Grafana
Familiarity with Azure cloud services and cloud data storage solutions
Good understanding of data analysis techniques and statistical methods
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Nice to have

Knowledge with cloud platforms, i.e. Azure.
General knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes and associated architecture.
Command-line experience in Linux

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain interactive Grafana reports and dashboards that provide insights into business performance and key metrics
Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze data from PostgreSQL databases
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into analytical solutions
Perform data cleaning, transformation, and exploration to prepare datasets for analysis and visualization
Work with software development team to analyze and optimize existing data model
Assist in troubleshooting data quality issues and contribute to continuous improvements in the data pipeline
