    Requirements

    We have an opportunity for a Java Developer Intern to join our Smart Energy - Connected Utility - Application Engineering team in Bucharest. As an intern, you will work closely with experienced developers, gaining hands-on experience in designing, coding, and testing software solutions. You will contribute to real-world projects, enhancing your skills in Java development, and learning about software development best practices in a collaborative and diverse work environment.

    This role is part of our University Relations program, designed to help students and recent graduates launch their careers with hands-on experience, mentorship, and opportunities for growth within Honeywell

    This is a hybrid role, 3 days at the office + 2 days work from home model.

    The internship will last for 12 months.

    Key skills and qualifications

    Final Year Student (within Bachelor Degree Program) or Student at Masters Program
    Fluent: English
    Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and core Java concepts
    General understanding of software development life cycle
    General knowledge of relational databases and SQL
    Basic knowledge of support tools: git, maven, Jira
    Strong written and verbal communication skills
    Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
    Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies
    Nice to have

    Knowledge of Spring-Boot, REST API and microservice frameworks
    General knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes and associated architecture
    Knowledge with cloud platforms, i.e. Azure
    Command-line experience in Linux

    Responsibilities

    Key responsibilities

    Assist in the development, testing, and debugging of Java-based applications
    Participate in code reviews and contribute to the design and architecture of software projects
    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and implement features
    Document code and assist in maintaining project documentation
    Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues under the guidance of senior developers
