To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Commodity Manager Mechanical, located in Flex Timisoara.

What a typical day looks like:
 

• You will develop and define Site strategic plans for the mechanical and plastics commodity and deploy the action plans contributing to the implementation of strategic objectives;
• You will be responsible for supporting and making decisions on administrative or operational matters to ensure effective achievement of operations objectives. Be comfortable with major decisions that will impact the profitability of Flex Timisoara;
• Overseeing the development and maintenance of strategic supplier relationships and act as escalation point in the event of major supplier issues;
• You will negotiate supplier contracts, T&Cs to achieve cost reductions;
• Focusing on enabling and deploying Mechanical commodities strategy into Flex products;
• Implementing programs for supplier selection, supplier performance management and supply base optimization;
• You will monitor current commodity market conditions, technology roadmaps and identify supply/demand challenges. Develop, implement, and communicate tactical and strategic commodity plans internally and to Flex customers as appropriate;
• You will collaborate with Supply Chain Managers and Product Introduction centers to coordinate sourcing strategies and ensure a smooth and timely manufacturing ramp on new programs and current running programs.
   

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
 

• Minimum 3 years of material and manufacturing experience in mechanical and plastics commodity management;
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering;
• Detailed expertise in very complex functional/technical area or broad breadth of knowledge in multiple areas;
• Good understanding and experience of mechanical and plastic component market and supply base;
• Fluent in writing, speaking, and understanding English;
• Readiness to travel 30% of the time;
• Excellent influencing, negotiation and analytical skills.
