    As the Head of Mechanical Engineering for Vehicle & Battery Control and Engine Control business units in Timisoara location, you will play a pivotal role in driving our engineering success. Leading a department of approximately 20 engineers, you will oversee design development and design implementation teams, providing critical guidance to Team Leaders and Technical Project Managers.

    Your Key Responsibilities:
    • Leadership & Strategy: Lead the Mechanical Engineering discipline and department, aligning activities with our business units strategy and goals, and fostering excellence.
    • Product Development & Collaboration: Direct the development of Mechanical Solutions for effective and competitive series product applications, that meet business roadmap, regulation, standards, requirements, procedures, and defined timeline, establishing proper internal and external collaborations.
    • Resource Management: Perform resource planning, including budget management and staffing, and elaborate related competence footprint.
    • Project Oversight: Act as Engineering Release Manager for small to medium sized projects, ensure robust tracking of progress and adherence to mechanical milestones.
    • Quotations: Release all quotations from the group, ensure cooperation with Base Development team and other involved stakeholders.
    • Talent Development: Perform talent management and develop team competences, mentor direct reporting managers on performance management and people development.
    • Risk & Problem Solving: Strategically plan and implement risk management approaches within own group ; serving as primary point of escalation internally, with customers and/or suppliers, towards problem solving.
    • Business Relationships: Cultivate sustainable partnerships within and outside the group, discipline, location, and company ; acting as a worldwide key player.
    • Continuous Improvement: Drive ongoing enhancements in the development process, ensuring high quality, timely delivery and cost efficiency, while being fully technical compliant.
    • Reporting: Deliver regular reports and insights related to your areas of responsibility.
    Your Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
    • Demonstrated leadership and ownership
    • Strong technical background, in mechanical development and manufacturing technologies
    • Management experience in automotive R&D
    • Solution and customer orientation
    • Team spirit, open mind and intercultural experience
    • Ability to challenge and support
    • Communication skills
    • Knowledge in Project, Risk and Change management
    • Potential business travel to consider
    • Fluent in English
