    Role description

    This is an entry-level role focused on providing support for privacy and data protection matters across multiple business units or regions within a centralized service model. The role involves assisting with compliance efforts, reviewing legal documents, and providing guidance on privacy-related issues under the supervision of senior legal professionals.

    The role operates in a centralized, service-oriented environment, supporting multiple regions or departments. The focus is on efficiency, standardization, and collaboration to ensure consistent legal support for privacy-related matters across the organization. The Junior Privacy Legal Counsel contributes by handling routine legal tasks, escalating complex issues to senior counsel, and building a foundation in privacy law.

    This role provides an excellent starting point for legal professionals aspiring to specialize in privacy and data protection law within a dynamic, global environment. 

    This role provides a hybrid way of working with an onsite presence of 2 days/week.

    Key Job Responsibilities and Duties 

    • Able to deliver on the following scope of work with some guidance, but mostly independently, including collecting and validating information, performing routine analyses, and communicating findings. Is able to identify and aids in the delivery of recommendations:
      • Scanning of external information sources for privacy regulatory events
      • Conducts research and delivers summarization analyses on privacy regulatory matters with a focus on data privacy, AI and cybersecurity matters from a global perspective. High relevance examples include US State Privacy Laws, EU's the GDPR and e-Privacy Directive, India's DPDP Act, and China's PIPL
      • Create privacy materials and other relevant content as necessary to improve the brands’ ability to deliver training and awareness initiatives
      • Researching privacy templates and policies
      • Documentation of processes, including maintaining procedures and flowcharts
    • Contributes in identifying recommendations, and aids with delivering recommendations. Delivers findings to supervisors or peers in organized communication mediums (e.g. executive summaries, reports).

    Role Qualifications and Requirements

    • Good knowledge of data privacy laws in EU (global privacy laws is a plus)
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Law 
    • Legal background and 1-3 years proven experience in Privacy (or similar in Legal)
    • Ability to work independently from intake through execution
    • A collaborative team player
    • Good communicator
    • Fluent in English (written and verbally) 
    • Ability to work well with colleagues around the world and handle with ease both time-sensitive and long-term projects
    • Work with employment contract not Collaboration Agreement
