    PROJECT MANAGER

    LOCATION: Bucharest (with travelling to projects sites across Romania)

    THE COMPANY Our client is an international General Contractor and EPC specializing in industrial turnkey projects, addressing multiple industries. Recently, they have established a presence in Romania after securing several significant projects, including Wastewater Treatment Sludge facilities. The Bucharest HQ will start with a small team, supported by project engineering teams traveling to various sites to oversee subcontractor activities.

    THE ROLE We are searching for a Project Engineer / Manager with a strong engineering background and excellent project management skills to join our client team.
    The Project Engineer’s responsibilities include assisting the Country Project Manager in ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and quality standards, coordinating all internal and external interfaces during project meetings, and participating in design and planning, including feasibility studies.

    You will also be involved in planning installation activities, preparing specifications for subcontractor involvement, identifying and mitigating project risks, and facilitating process improvements.
    As part of a dynamic and international team, you will participate in project meetings, communicate relevant project information to various stakeholders, and cooperate closely with engineering colleagues. Regular knowledge transfer regarding cross-project and cross-disciplinary best practices will be a key part of your role.
    You will work closely with the internal project management team and report directly to the project manager, ensuring smooth communication and collaboration.
    This role requires flexibility, willingness to travel, and a high degree of responsibility and quality awareness.

    Job Responsibilities and Duties:

    • Assist the project manager with a focus on adherence to schedules, budgets, and quality.
    • Coordinate all internal and external interfaces during project meetings as well as internal and external acceptances.
    • Report and maintain close communication with the internal project management team.
    • Participate in design and planning, including feasibility studies.
    • Plan installation activities and prepare specifications for subcontractor involvement.
    • Identify and mitigate project risks.
    • Provide support and facilitate process improvements.
    • Participate in project meetings and communicate relevant project information to various stakeholders.
    • Cooperate with engineering colleagues from headquarter or other countries, including regular knowledge transfer regarding cross-project and cross-disciplinary best practices.
    THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidate will be a native Romanian speaker, fluent in English or / and Turkish with minimum 3 years’ experience of project engineering or project management experience in large scale construction projects. Candidates from construction and infrastructure companies involved in water, chemical, sewage, waste, industrial pumps, either as solutions providers or integrators, working as Project Managers or Project Engineers in these sectors and experienced in handling large-scale projects, budgeting, and regulatory compliance.
    • A university degree in engineering (preferably mechanical, chemical, or civil engineering) or a comparable degree program.
    • At least 3 years of work experience in construction or industrial engineering projects.
    • Native Romanian speaker and business fluent in written and spoken English.
    • Proficient in MS Office and ACAD.
    • Strong analytical thinking with a structured way of working.
    • Strong communication skills with a high team spirit.
    • High degree of responsibility and quality awareness.
    • Flexible and willing to travel within the scope of project realization to project locations.
    • Holder of a driving license and an active user.
