Job role
The Group Technology Transformation (GTT) department represents the interests of the Allianz Group and the Group COO and takes over of steering the Operating Entities (OEs) towards Operations and IT Group Strategy. As Group Portfolio & Project Transformation Manager you are responsible to steer assigned OEs towards the defined Ops&IT target picture by strategically supporting theOE Transformation Roadmap for relevant Operations & IT projects, giving recommendations and reporting to the respective Governance bodies within the Group. You are particularly responsible for steering the IT transformation and agreed productivity improvements of the OE from a Group perspective. You uphold a constructive and effective relationship with all key stakeholders of the OE, our internal shared service provider AZ Technology and the Allianz Group.
What you will do
- Responsible for the realization of global and local Operations and IT strategy (putting it into the OE context), and for the definition of Operations/IT transformation roadmaps for assigned Allianz Operating Entities (OEs)
- Responsible for the implementation of these roadmaps by applying and orchestrating the various steering tools (e.g. Ops&IT Strategy Sessions, SD/PD) of Group Operations and AZ SE, monitoring and ensuring that progress on these roadmaps is made.
- Actively ensure that critical topics are identified and analyzed (identify issues, analyze their root causes and their impact, e.g. on financials, timeline, scope), recommend and push for appropriate measures to get project back-on track
- Steer the OE project in line with the Group Operations & IT Strategy and the OE top projects with various focuses, e.g.
- Program-/project reviews of our largest Operation, IT or system integration programs including all relevant aspects of the value or delivery chain
- Project assessment in the context of the decision making process, incl. recommendations to the decision making bodies
- Responsible for the effective and efficient collaboration between OEs (or regions), Allianz SE and its shared services provider AZ Technology.
What you bring
- Exceptional academic background in IT, Economics or Business Administration (diploma or master’s degree)
- Deep understanding of Operations and IT and their interrelation with business
- Advanced understanding of financial and operational steering, KPIs and impacts
- Good understanding of the insurance industry with proven experience of international project management within large and complex IT projects (system implementation/integration programs, IT transformation)
- Professional fluency in English, including proficiency in written English; fluency in other languages is a plus
- Ability and willingness to travel ( ~30%) to Allianz destinations world-wide, also on short notice
- Excellent MS-Office skills
You have
- >5 years of working experience in financial services industry (in particular within Operations and IT) and/or IT consulting
- Strong analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills
- Strong project management capabilities
- Ability to get up to speed on complex strategic and operational topics and to consolidate and evaluate large amounts of information
- Strong communication, negotiation, mediation and diplomatic skills, ability to work with different cultures and manage numerous interfaces, confidence in dealing with Top Executives
- Entrepreneurial can-do attitude and drive with out-of-the-box-thinking focus on quality execution and delivery of task, result-oriented, customer-focused, pro-active, flexible and energetic team player with ability to work under pressure,
- Being willing to 'go the extra' mile for our customers, partners and other business units
